Nature Series with Outdoor Enthusiast Rob Zimmer
The Oshkosh Recreation Department is excited to welcome back naturalist Rob Zimmer for this school year! Join us on the third Wednesday of each month for a new nature presentation that is sure to keep you coming back for more.
All presentations will be hosted by our friends at the Oshkosh Seniors Center - South Building All presentations will be held at the South building located at 200 N. Campbell Rd. Participants will need to pre-register by calling the Seniors Center front desk at (920) 232-5300.

Make a New Year’s resolution to start your own nature or gardening journal. Rob will go through some great ways to begin and keep your journal full of beauty and wonder all year long. From recording wildlife observations to weather conditions, bloom times and so much more, you’ll get great tips on how to start your own nature journal.

We all dream of starting our own seeds indoors for edible plants, wildflowers, plants for birds and butterflies and so much more. Rob will give some great tips for starting annuals, perennials, as well as edible plants in the comfort of your own home, readying them for transplant outdoors in May.

Spring migration is on and peak time is here for many species of waterfowl, sandhill cranes and more. We’ll visit some amazing places and see some spectacular photos of some of these early migrants that make their journeys north during March and April.

April is peak time to harvest and enjoy many delicious, wild edible plants. Rob will take a look at some of the most delicious and nutritious of the April spring greens, and what to expect later in May and June.
