A historical landmark of the Oshkosh Recreation Department is the Recreation Gymnasium, which serves as the current home of the Department Office and is still an important facility for programs. Built in 1927, the Recreation Gym played an integral part in the formation of today’s professional basketball league, the National Basketball Association (NBA). The gym was considered a state-of-the-art facility in its early years and is still the preferred site to play basketball in Oshkosh because of its suspended wood floor.
We offer a variety of activities at the Recreation Gym from Volleyball, Pickleball, Shuffleboard, Open Gym Basketball, and Walking Times.
