Looking for a unique and fun way to spend time outdoors? Geocaching is an environmentally friendly outdoor recreational activity. This outdoor treasure hunting game involves searching for hidden objects using clues and GPS (global positioning system) coordinates. Enjoy learning and taking in the beauty of destinations while on your real life treasure hunt for geocaches!
YOU WILL NEED A CELLULAR DEVICE WITH DATA CAPABILITIES SO YOU CAN NAVIGATE TO A CACHE. A Geocaching App is required in order to participate. Those who sign up will receive directions on how to download and activate the app. Please make sure you download the app and create a Username before class! There is a free version and a premium version of the app. The free verison limits the number of geocahes available. The premium version is $6.99 per month, or $39.99 per year. This version will allow you to find every geocache available.
Wear good walking shoes and bring a small snack and water in a draw string bag.
